An Original Stage Production
Written by Vel Adams
Oklahoma City, OK • In person & video auditions
THE PRODUCTION
Different Stories. One Table.
A group of friends gathers for Friendsgiving, expecting food, laughter, and the usual foolishness.
But as the evening unfolds, conversations deepen, relationships are tested, and questions of friendship, love, faith, grief, and what we truly believe find their way to the table.
Come Eat is an original contemporary stage production presented by Star Theatre, staged through Bethlehem Star Baptist Church & Pastor Rodney R. Payne.

MEET THE CHARACTERS
Thirteen characters.
A table full of possibilities.
Explore the characters below. Character ages describe the role, not a mandatory actor age.
Warm, grounded, and naturally funny, Casey is the kind of man people instinctively trust. A devoted husband, father, and man of faith, he carries himself with quiet confidence and leads without needing to dominate the room.
The consummate host with a quick wit and an enormous heart, Aaliyah has a gift for making people feel at home. She’s nurturing without being a pushover, observant without being intrusive, and often notices what others miss. Her strength is subtle, but unmistakable.
Brilliant, opinionated, politically minded, and occasionally too smart for his own good, Teddy can turn almost any conversation into a debate. He’s skeptical, analytical, and loves challenging ideas that don’t make sense to him. His confidence is genuine, but there are certain questions even Teddy hasn’t been able to reason his way through.
The life of the party, Omari is hilarious, quick-witted, and charismatic, with considerably more wisdom behind the humor than people initially realize. He’s the friend who can make you laugh until you cry, then somehow know exactly what to say when the laughing stops.
Charismatic, ambitious, stylish, and unapologetically confident, Malik believes a man should command respect wherever he goes. He’s outspoken about success, relationships, and masculinity, and rarely enters a conversation without an opinion. The swagger is real, but so is his need to prove himself.
Warm, loyal, patient, and deeply devoted to the people she loves, Diamond often chooses peace over confrontation. She’s accustomed to being the supportive one and has learned how to make herself comfortable in someone else’s spotlight. Don’t mistake her gentleness for weakness—there’s considerably more fire there than she normally allows people to see.
Charming, polished, and effortlessly pleasant, Monica knows exactly how to present herself in any room. Playing Monica requires charm, subtlety, and an actress who understands the power of subtext.
Funny, intelligent, loving, and strong-minded, Faith isn’t afraid to question traditions simply because ‘that’s how it’s always been done.’ She loves Zane deeply but approaches faith and marriage with a little more caution than he does.
Easygoing, sincere, and quietly confident, Zane is serious about his faith, his future, and the woman he intends to marry. He wants their marriage built on something deeper than feelings alone. His strength comes through patience more often than volume.
Free-spirited, confident, warm, and completely sincere, Luna believes deeply in energy, manifestation, alignment, and trusting what the universe sends her way. She can sound surprisingly profound one minute and leave everybody staring at her the next. The comedy works best when Luna never realizes she’s being funny.
Big personality, bigger laugh, and absolutely no indoor voice, Uncle Jimmy can walk into a tense room and have everybody laughing within thirty seconds. Buried underneath the jokes is a lifetime of wisdom. He’s the uncle who’ll roast you, feed you, correct you, and teach you a life lesson before you realize what happened.
Energetic, playful, and always ready to tease his sister, Jeremiah brings youthful chaos and warmth into the family home. He’s a regular kid with a big personality and an even bigger talent for getting on his sister’s nerves.
Sweet, clever, and expressive, Khaliah is fully capable of giving her brother exactly as much trouble as he gives her. She brings innocence and humor to the household while holding her own against Jeremiah’s antics.
Casting status: to be confirmed. Role availability and any pre-cast roles will be clarified before auditions.
